Candy Cane Inn – Anaheim
We stayed at Candy Cane Inn for 4 nights on a recent trip to Disneyland. This was one of the most impressive hotels I’ve stayed at for the price point. It is a top notch hotel in service, quality, amenities, comfort and cleanliness. From the outside, the inn is set up like a typical motel, with corridors facing outside and rooms entrances along the corridors. The hotel lobby decor is welcoming and bright with coffee (regular and decaf), as well as water and flavored water available all day.
A great breakfast is included with the room cost. It has all kinds of sandwiches, bagels, pastries, donuts etc. There is also freshly cut fruits that are arranged perfectly, yogurt, oatmeal and even a waffle stand by the pool! The entire staff, from receptionists to housekeeping folks to the shuttle drivers and the waitstaff at breakfast, is friendly, helpful and hardworking. They’re always nearby cleaning up the breakfast area, wiping tables when a party leaves, and arranging everything nicely. I even saw one of the staff rearranging everything in the fruit basket just to freshen it up and make it look nice.
The entire facility is well kept and clean and the rooms look like they’re newly renovated. I did laundry as well and even the laundry room was very impressive in terms of decor and cleanliness. There is also housekeeping everyday with all the toiletries fully stocked (shampoo, conditioner, lotion, shower gel, shower cap, soap, q-tips and even a comb). You don’t see daily housekeeping in most hotels nowadays. We stayed in a room that is closer to the front entrance of the hotel. I was originally worried that we would hear the road traffic, but the rooms are all very well-insulated. We could still hear a bit of traffic but nothing too bad.
The location is also great. We could walk to Disneyland in about 10 minutes when we didn’t want to wait for the shuttle. We didn’t even rent a car for the few days we were there because we were able to walk to everywhere that we needed to get to. This hotel really deserves all the praise on how well run it is.
